I’ve felt nervous about the election so when it was time to watch the results I was all:

So we had some amazing food (ribs!) and some beers and settled in (to watch Diane Sawyer slur a lot and Barbara Walters say nothing useful).

With each projection being called for Obama (especially NYC, NJ, and CT!!!!) I was all like:

And when they FINALLY announced the BIG WIN for Obama I just had to…

…on the inside. On the outside I was all

Sorry Mittens. America has spoken. We don’t want you!!

Now let’s party and work TOGETHER to make the country even better

You dig?

THE DAY THROUGH MY EYES

Vinny said he wanted to wake up early to come to church with me.  I was all:

But whatever…

Then we went to brunch, where we enjoyed delicious drinks.

And off to the Met, where I felt it would be appropriate to yell at tourists touching the art.

It was just another day at the Museum.

So when we went into the Studiolo everything was status quo… I was just taking some pictures and screaming at a man who thought it would be appropriate to put his hand ON the wall:

That’s when Vinny asked me if we wanted to “add to the history of the room.”  I was all:

But he was like:

That’s when he got down on his knee and took out the ring…

My initial reaction: “What are you doing?!”

But then I realized this was real life…

I said YES, OF COURSE!

I was SHOCKED.  I needed a minute to recover… 90 in fact…

What an amazing day.  I am SO lucky.

And that’s my story.

Walking around the museum:

Timing our entrance into the Studiolo perfectly:

Talking about how much history was in the beautiful room:

When Ste decided to stop and scream at the tourists touching the wall inside of said beautiful room:

Waiting for Ste in the room after he went looking for a security guard:

Ste finally returned to the room and I continued on with my romantic spiel. His initial reaction when I said I wanted to add to the history of the very old and beautiful room:

His reaction after I said “Noooo. Not THAT. Actually … I was hoping this would be the place you’d agree to be my husband”:

Then when I got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and asked “Will you do me the honor of marrying me”:

Then after it sunk in:

My inner feelings once he said “yes” and we were officially engaged:

My outside emotions:

What the wedding will be:
